The Dawning of Dusk

Seeing the sunset on the horizon
I gaze
Toward, then away
From the lit sky.
Pink, orange, blue,
Hues
Engulf the atmosphere's air
Beckoning nightfall.

The dawn of dusk lingers
'Til there's nothing more
But to wait for
The blanket of darkness
To unfold
Smoky clouds of charcoal
Grey
Descending
To the ending
Of day.
